Taking It All Off
Emerson College's Publishing Club is proud to present the release of our second book published by Wilde Press. Taking It All Off is a collection of short stories of personal empowerment written by senior, Ann Chang. It chronicles the lives of four very different characters, ranging from an ex-ballerina to a burlesque dancer, and their everyday struggles with what strips them emotionally bare.
We're very excited to announce that we will be having a launch party at the Emerson Barnes and Noble on Friday, December 18th at 6pm. The cost of the book is $8. All of proceeds will be donated to the U.S. Campaign for Burma, which is a U.S. based organization dedicated to bring an end to the military dictatorship in the Southeast Asian country of Burma.
Taking It All Off features colorful stories of self-growth, awareness, and empowerment- without being a self-help book. The themes of Ann's stories fell congruent with our hopes for the people of Burma who are locked in one of the world’s greatest freedom struggles. The Burmese unfortunately live in a much different place. The country’s military rulers, the State Peace and Development Council, have run the country with an iron fist for the past 19 years, after they assumed power from a 26-year socialist dictatorship. The mission of U.S. Campaign for Burma is to build a broad based coalition of grassroots and institutional support for freedom in Burma. In many ways, we are fortunate to have the ability to shed some skin and to learn how to follow our own paths. We hope to see the same for the people of Burma.
This holiday season, help us help them.

The publishing club works hard to help up and coming new voices have a voice in the world of writing.
